Laura's current work is a journey into the interior. It begins by catching a glimpse of something hidden, a spark of curiosity. She is interested in a child's ability to see a whole universe in something very small. It is this sense of wonder, invention and the unexpected that she wants to convey.

The interior spaces of her work suggest a microscopic world or dimly illuminated caves. They are imagined spaces inhabited by strange and curious organisms, a fantastic voyage through awe-inspiring landscapes and miniature worlds.

It is the otherness of nature that strikes a cord with her, things that are alien and also familiar, compelling, yet repulsive.

All the work is hand formed blown glass. It is cased with a transparent and an opaque colour, which gives depth and intensity.

Laura has won the much coveted Bombay Sapphire Best Newcomer Prize 2006.
